Battery Power & Pleasure Time

Battery Power & Pleasure Time

By Joe Jackson

The biggest limitation you face during your RC playtime is battery power.

Seems like just when you get into the relaxation and pleasure of steering that remote control model around, the batteries go dead. You must delay your fun while you charge them back up, or you make a run to the hardware store for a fresh supply.

In the case of an RC vehicle like the #3 NASCAR, which operates on 6 ‘AA’ batteries and one 9V battery, you’ll need a large stock if you want long periods of enjoyment, or if your stress level needs a lot of time to mellow down.

Stocking power pro-actively sure beats the necessity of making a run for a fresh supply every time a battery goes dead.

Maybe by now you’re realizing what I’m about to suggest, but just in case…

Here’s an idea to help keep that radio control toy running without needing to take any longer charge-time periods than absolutely required:

Invest in a charging system for alkaline-type batteries. Readily available these days, these chargers let you keep a back-up set of ‘AA’ types, or most any type battery you need, powered up and ready to get you back on the drivers console after just a short break.

When you have a ready supply of power standing by, you beat an awful lot of the frustration caused by stopping in the middle of your play time when a battery goes dead, and your vehicle stops running – and you can’t start it back up, because you don’t have fresh batteries to install.

Kind of like running out of gas 23-miles into the desert at noon…

You know your next move is start walking, but you sure don’t want to take that first step.

If you’re looking for a remote control vehicle for your young ones let me ask you, “How patient will they be when that toy suddenly stops running, and they find out you don’t have a new battery to get them playing again?”

Do yourself a pro-active favor and stop the frustration from happening. Take note of the power requirements for the RC model you’re ordering. Then, while you’re waiting for it to get home, go stock up on power.

And for your highest level of fun, get yourself the charging system for alkaline-style batteries.

Bet you’ll be glad you did.
